I founded DataArk Labs after two decades building and rebuilding the data systems organisations actually run on — across consumer goods manufacturing, retail, mining, government, startups, and technology.
While the focus has recently shifted to AI, it still surprises me how little attention people pay to the quality of the data — and the context it sits in — underneath it all. The models get the headlines; the data and its context carry the weight.

Why DataArk Labs exists
The businesses getting real value from their data and AI tools spend the upfront time getting their foundations right first.
Looking back over the 20 years, while the tools used to store, transform, query, and visualise data have become more advanced, the general approach taken to make data useful hasn't. And as we rely more and more on AI to help teams do their work, the importance of a sound data foundation — good infrastructure, clean data, and the context that gives it meaning — will only continue to grow.
DataArk Labs exists to help businesses navigate the full range of this work — from the nuanced, strategic calls at the top (what business questions you actually want answered, which workflows to automate versus augment, where AI genuinely belongs, what infrastructure you'll need to support it, how to govern it in production) to the mundane but critical plumbing underneath (clean pipelines, standardised inputs, master data that actually lines up). Both ends need doing, and most consultancies only work one of them.
